The Community Development department oversees a broad range of tasks revolving around the county. The primary responsibilities include:

• Code enforcement of the county's non-criminal ordinances
• Economic development and grants
• Land use permitting
• Smoke & burn permits outside of fire districts

The department also coordinates with State Building Codes and County Environmental Health for building and septic permits.
